Ok Bikram. I went to the 4 pm class despite it being a very sunny day. A sunny day after a snowy one at that. There were maybe 12 other people in class. I was taking it easy for my knee and found triangle to be too much off the mat (it gets slippery and that sideways sliding motion was straining) so I stepped back into the mat. This was not well received. I’m still not used to the idea that this (off the mat) is the correct way to to do the wide legged poses. We used to just turn sideways and stay on the mat. So I did not feel like I was modifying the pose… I guess I was wrong. There was some ego slipping in, I want to do triangle! It had become my favorite pose before my knee started acting up. So it’s frustrating to have to avoid it. Oh well. On the other hand, I got a “Nice, Emily” while in rabbit. That threw me off! I’m still not convinced that it wasn’t meant for some other Emily. Rabbit is a pose that eludes me and that never feels quite right. So you can imagine my shock. It did however feel extra good today so maybe there was something to it.
I scored this fancy pants crystal Riedel Burgundy wine glass at a garage sale for 50 cents! That half of a dollar. What a steal. So I put some Pinot Noir (not from Burgundy but from New Zealand) in it and it it tasty!
