Day one hundred and thirty seven

Just trying to relax AND rest after a rather grueling Bikram session. Some classes are just harder than others. There’s a woman that goes to class, and I see her oh every time I go, that today just completed the thirty day challenge. Big deal right? Lots of folks do that. But she did 60 classes in 30 days! She did back to back Bikram and hot flow or Bikram and radiant flow or traditional hot and radiant or whatever combination was happening everyday for 30 days straight. Amazing! I over heard her after class saying she’s not stopping either, she intends to keep it up. I’m inspired to try it at least once…just to get an idea of what it’s like to have 3 hours of that intensity all in a row. I’m not sure that I could hydrate enough to survive.

Today!

Hatha Yoga is the lineage that hot yoga comes from. Wikipedia has a kinda crazy definition.
“The Sanskrit term haṭha refers to the use of persistence or force, and haṭhayoga is translated by the Monier-Williams dictionary as “a kind of forced Yoga or abstract meditation (forcing the mind to withdraw from external objects; treated of in the Haṭha‐pradīpikā by Svātmārāma and performed with much self‐torture, such as standing on one leg, holding up the arms, inhaling smoke with the head inverted.”
I’d like to continue this investigation but I am too tired and it’ll have to wait.
Namaste.

I have challenged myself to do yoga everyday for one year and thought I'd blog about it. I have been practicing yoga on and off and back and forth for about 9 years and I have decided that it is time for me to really delve in and figure out what it's all about, if it is something I want to make part of my life. I also thought this might put some discipline in to my day and be a fun way to express my thoughts and share some pictures that may or may not have anything directly to do with yoga.
