Right now I am really into mountain pose or tadasana.

20121209-221458.jpg It looks like this. This pose is used in Bikram’s standing series between postures. Lately at home I’ve been starting with it, I like to practice it for at least several breaths if not more. It’s a pose you can do throughout the day, like while standing in line to get a coffee, or waiting at the copier for…well a copy. Its also fun to say TADASANA! This page has a nice explanation of the posture:

I was shoveling this morning and thinking maybe it’s kinda like yoga, it’s a bit meditative, and as long as you’re breathing and not focusing on random thoughts and engaging the core I think it’s like yoga.

Nordic skiing is great fun too but not quite yoga like especially when there is fresh snow and fun little hills!

I have challenged myself to do yoga everyday for one year and thought I'd blog about it. I have been practicing yoga on and off and back and forth for about 9 years and I have decided that it is time for me to really delve in and figure out what it's all about, if it is something I want to make part of my life. I also thought this might put some discipline in to my day and be a fun way to express my thoughts and share some pictures that may or may not have anything directly to do with yoga.
