Day fifty

Today I went to Bikram. It was hot. It felt ok, not my best class.
The following is a fun fact about the neck from ‘The Science of Yoga’ by William J. Broad…and yes I am still reading the same book.
P. 113
“Scientists have measured the neck’s normal range of motion and found the movements to be extraordinary wide. The neck can stretch backward 75 degrees, forward 40 degrees, and sideways 45 degrees, and can rotate on its axis about 50 degrees. Yoga practitioners typically move the vertebrae much farther. For instance, an intermediate student can easily turn his or her neck 90 degrees-nearly twice the normal rotation.”

I have challenged myself to do yoga everyday for one year and thought I'd blog about it. I have been practicing yoga on and off and back and forth for about 9 years and I have decided that it is time for me to really delve in and figure out what it's all about, if it is something I want to make part of my life. I also thought this might put some discipline in to my day and be a fun way to express my thoughts and share some pictures that may or may not have anything directly to do with yoga.
