August is treating us well so far but fall is near…

My back is still very sore. It’s better after some acupuncture, much more relaxed but I must let it rest up. In a way my yoga today has been resting and focusing fresh big breaths of air into the sacrum area. I did some reading from one of my many largely untouched yoga books about low back and sacrum pain (Yoga for Wellness by Gary Kraftsow is the book). There is a practice that the author specifically developed for strengthening and stretching the sacrum safely. I may try some of the postures this evening but I may also just lie on the floor and rest completely. This will be the first practice I do once I feel strong enough and am not in pain.
The following is the sequence of postures the author developed, it can be found on pages 187-190. You can look up the sanskrit words on your own time.
~cakravakasana x8
~bhujangasana x6
~cakravakasana x8
~vimanasana x6
~cakravakasana x8
~supta baddha konasana x6
~savasana 3-5 minutes

I have challenged myself to do yoga everyday for one year and thought I'd blog about it. I have been practicing yoga on and off and back and forth for about 9 years and I have decided that it is time for me to really delve in and figure out what it's all about, if it is something I want to make part of my life. I also thought this might put some discipline in to my day and be a fun way to express my thoughts and share some pictures that may or may not have anything directly to do with yoga.
